Carmine's art is about people, drawings are varied and eclectic. Viewing the different subject matter in pencil is quite satisfying. Carmine may spend months just thinking of the arrangement, the feeling of his subjects.

Thirty years ago Carmine had several oil paintings in an exhibit at the Chicago Institute of Art, with very satisfying positive results. Many of these paintings are still in the hands of collectors.

With other obligations the art went into arrest.

Recently Carmine's art came into view by accident. Back to drawing he states:

"I like graphics, media with a pencil, for I feel to express yourself with only a piece of lead is the most difficult, but most rewarding. To express

oneself with just the black and white to create values that all appreciate, is very exciting and rewarding. I get more out of the media working with the pencil versus a paint brush.

When I see something I want to draw, I get a feeling. I love people; their form intrigues me. When I draw, it's like creating another spirit! People, collages, especially something unusual - that's me!"
